Bringing Our Exceptional Care to Your Farm
When most people think about veterinarians they picture James Herriot driving from farm to farm taking care of animals. In fact, many veterinarians entered the profession because they read the books and were inspired by the fascinating stories told by Mr. Herriot.
Wisconsin Equine Clinic & Hospital was founded by Dr. Robert Magnus as a field service practice. Over the years, it has expanded to include a world-class veterinary hospital. Today, we still remain true to our roots providing exceptional, compassionate patient care to our clients at their homes or the barns where they board their horses. Our field service staff has grown to meet the ever increasing desires of our clients.
Compassionate Care, Portable State-of-the-Art Technology
In the field on farm calls, the doctors have portable advanced imaging such as digital radiography and ultrasound to improve diagnostic capabilities and can use it to accurately diagnose emergency lameness problems, give instant information to assist farriers, and improve the speed and efficiency of our pre-purchase exams.
Our veterinarians also utilize a laptop on field visits, giving immediate access to important patient information.
Veterinarians Available Daily to Meet With Your Horse
Wisconsin Equine's vets are available every day to service your horse's needs. From routine health and wellness needs, including vaccinations, dentistry and health exams, to full lameness exams, pre-purchase exams, and everything in between. Routine appointments are typically scheduled Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm. We are also available for emergency appointments, 24 hours a day 7 days a week, to evaluate your horse when illness or injuries arise. Many illnesses can be successfully treated in the field where you and your horse are most comfortable, but if more advanced treatments are necessary, it's reassuring to know the hospital is nearby.
