My primary interest is in the field of equine internal medicine with a special emphasis on respiratory disorders, dermatology, and the care and treatment of foundered horses.
I was born in Montpelier, Idaho and raised on a small cattle ranch. My introduction to horses came early as we always had 5-10 stock horses on the ranch. Our horses were primarily used for work, but they also served as transportation until I was old enough to drive. I received my veterinary degree from Washington State University and later completed my internal medicine residency and masters degree at the University of Illinois in 1992. In 1998 I joined WECH after serving on the faculty at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine for six years. My wife, family and I now reside in Oconomowoc.
I have always had a strong passion for photography and my love of Thoroughbred racehorses has sparked my interest in Thoroughbred pedigree analysis.
