Elsbeth Swain, DVM

Elsbeth Swain, DVM was born in San Mateo, CA and grew up in Evergreen, CO. Dr. Swain's phenomenal family all reside in Colorado. Her early years were filled with anything and everything to do with horses, starting with pony club. Her first horse "Touche", a hunter/jumper was the "love of her life." Although this wonderful horse has passed, she continues the legacy with her off-spring "Mo", a 4 year old gelding thoroughbred.

Dr. Swain broadened her knowledge of horses by working for several breeding barns while growing up, helping with foaling and other reproductive responsibilities. She received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. During her time here at WECH, Dr. Swain hopes to increase her knowledge in reproduction and neonatal medicine. Dr. Swain's future goals include a residency in equine reproduction or medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys boating, hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing, backpacking, camping, biking and all things horse related.
She currently resides in Oconomowoc, WI with her Great Dane "Nell".
