University of Tennessee: Internship-Large Animal Medicine and Surgery
My medical specialties include a strong interest in equine dentistry, along with working with the equine athlete on performance related injuries. With the advances in diagnostic options such as MRI, ultrasound and other imaging tools it is rewarding to help both the performance and pleasure horse return to work.
I was raised on a large Paso Fino breeding and training farm in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. I showed throughout the United States and was fortunate to have trained and shown three National Champions. I married Gina, the love of my life, in veterinary school and went on to the University of Tennessee to do an internship in large animal medicine and surgery. We moved back to Wisconsin in 1988 and purchased a small farm where we live today with our two daughters Carey and MacKenzie along with a menagerie of animals.
Whether riding my gelding "Illuminares" or collecting eggs in the chicken coop, it's nice to live in the country. Five years ago I started racing sailboats in Oconomowoc, it has been a humbling sport. I also enjoy many other activities including downhill skiing, water skiing, basketball, and following Wisconsin's Green Bay Packers. In the winter (as time permits) you may find me in my basement struggling with a woodworking project
